Thug smashed girlfriend's car in rage believing she broke lockdown to see another man

A thug smashed up his girlfriend's car in a jealous rage after believing she had flouted lockdown to see another man.

Edward Harrison stormed over to Frances Ferguson's home in Blackhill, Glasgow after he claims he saw social media posts 'taunting' him, a court heard.

The 35-year-old jumped in his car and sped off when police arrived but crashed shortly after.

After getting out the vehicle he threated three officers before biting and kicking one female office, reports The Daily Record.

Harrison faces jail after he admitted acting in a threatening manner, three assaults as well as dangerous driving in the incident in April.

He had initially been living with 30-year-old Miss Ferguson during lockdown.

Harrison eventually left but then stormed back in the early hours one morning and thumped on the door.

He then smashed a Ford Ecosport outside with a pole before police arrived.

Harrison jumped into a Ford Kuga, which he soon crashed after losing control.

After getting out the car, he screamed at officers: “You want to fight? Come on then.”

Glasgow Sheriff Court heard crazed Harrison bit and kicked one female officer, hit another and then booted and punched a male constable.

His lawyer said Harrison believed he had earlier been “taunted” by Miss Ferguson on social media about another man.

Calum Weir, defending, added: “She broke the lockdown rules at an early stage to spend the night with this individual.

“He thought this put his family at risk and this was the last straw for Mr Harrison.

“He was upset and angry and attended the home.”

Sheriff Joseph Platt remanded Harrison in custody as sentencing was deferred for reports.
