Thug shot in Belfast was north Dublin gangster Robbie Lawlor suspected of killing Louth teen Keane Mulready-Woods

The thug murdered in Belfast yesterday was notorious Dublin gangster Robbie Lawlor.

The dad-of-three was gunned down outside a house at Etna Street in the Ardoyne area of the city.

It is believed that he was intent on "either killing someone or hammering someone for money" when his killer struck.

He was blasted several times and was pronounced dead at the scene. Four men have been arrested in relation to the shooting.

The 35-year-old was one of the prime suspects in the gruesome death of Co Louth teenager Keane Mulready-Woods, whose body was found dismembered in Dublin.

The tragic teen's body parts were scattered around north Dublin after he murdered in January.

Last year, a video of Lawlor being confronted after being released from prison saw him struck in the face.

The video shows a number of men on the street confronting him before he is hit.

Lawlor then appears to throw a punch towards another man before taking a few steps back and laughing.

The camera man shouts "that's only the start of it Robbie".

Notorious criminal told 'it's only the start' as he's confronted after release

The notorious criminal had been released from custody after being cleared of attempting to murder his ex's mother in law.

He had 124 previous convictions.
