Thug robs young woman's car, cash and phone in terrifying carjacking in Foxrock

A young woman was targeted in a terrifying carjacking attack at the weekend when a man followed her to her south Dublin home before stealing her car, money and mobile phone.

The horrifying incident happened in the early hours of Sunday in Foxrock.

The woman in her 20s was returning home at around 1.15am when a black pick-up truck began following her on Brennanstown Road, Cabinteely Life reports.

When she pulled into her driveway, the man jumped out of his truck, threw a rock through the passenger window of her car and demanded she get out.

The thug then demanded her mobile phone and cash before making off with the shaken woman's car.

Gardai this evening confirmed to Dublin Live that they are investigating the horror hijacking.

They said: "Gardaí are investigating the hijacking of a vehicle in the Lehaunstown Lane area of Foxrock that occurred on 25/8/19 at approximately 1:30am.

"A woman aged in her 20s was forced to exit her vehicle by an unknown male. The male then left the scene in the vehicle.

"No injuries were sustained by the woman. The vehicle involved was later seized by Gardaí. No arrests have been made. Investigations are ongoing.
