Thug robbed man in broad daylight after asking him for cigarette on Livingston footpath

A thug robbed a man in broad daylight after asking him for a cigarette in Livingston.

The alarming incident happened on the footpath between the Carmondean Centre car park and Lanark Avenue at around 4.20pm on Sunday, 15 September.

Police say the victim was walking along the path when he was approached from behind by the suspect. The suspect then asked him for a cigarette before robbing him and heading off in the direction of Raeburn Rigg.

Officers have described the crook as being white, around 5ft 2ins, aged between 16 and 20 and with short dark brown hair. He was wearing a dark blue hoodie and tan coloured shorts.

Anyone who witnessed this incident, or saw anything suspicious in the area, is urged to contact Livingston CID on 101, quoting incident 2812 of 15 September. Alternatively get in touch with Crimestoppers anonymously on 0800 555 111.
