Thug punches elderly anti-Trump protester in face as crowd chant 'lock him up'

A man has been arrested and charged with assault after punching an elderly protester during a anti-Trump rally.

Mike Alter, 61, was hit in the face while he was protesting with a group outside Donald Trump's US Bank Area in Cincinnati on Thursday.

Video posted on social media shows 29-year-old Dallas Frazier pull up in a red pickup truck and confronts Mike before throwing punches at him.

Nearby police officers then rush in to detain Frazier, who is seen wearing a green top, and handcuff him as the crowd repeatedly chant: "Lock him up!"

Victim Mike told local media WCPO that he did not provoke the man or mean to start an altercation.

He said: "I was more questioning him. Like, really you want to fight?

"[I thought] What the hell? He started just whaling my head. I didn't go down, for what that's worth."

He was reportedly hit at least three times before the police came to break up the fight.
