Thug gang seriously injure young woman and man on night out in horror early morning Dublin city attack

A gang of thugs left a young woman and a man seriously injured following a shocking early morning attack in Dublin City Centre.

Both of the youngsters in their 20s were assaulted while on a night out on South Richmond Street just before 2am this morning.

The pair received a number of serious injuries which they are still recovering from but their condition is being described as non-life threatening.

A Garda manhunt has now been launched to find the vicious attackers who are still at large in the city.

A Garda spokeswoman confirmed the attack to Dublin Live.

She said: "Gardaí are investigating an incident of assault which occurred on South Richmond Street in the early hours of this morning, Saturday 12 September at approximately 1.30am.

"A male and female, aged in their 20s, received a number of serious but non-life threatening injuries during the incident."

She added: "No further information is available at this time and investigations are ongoing."
