A thug Dublin gang tried to stab a young man as many as eight times during a horror early morning attack.
The victim, who is in his 20s, is understood to be from India and studying in Ireland while working part-time in a local takeaway as a delivery driver when he was targeted in Finglas this weekend.
It is understood that the group approached the victim after 2am on Sunday morning while he was delivering food and assaulted him.
One of the men is understood to have had a knife and attempted to stab the young man as many as eight times but luckily did not make contact each time.
The victim did have one deep wound following the stabbing and attended Connolly Hospital in Blanchardstown where he was treated for his injuries.
Gardai confirmed the attack and have launched an investigation as a manhunt begins to find the attackers.
A spokesman said: "Gardai are investigating an assault in Finglas at 2:20am on Sunday, September 6.
“A man in his 20s was taken to James Connolly Hospital for treatment for non-life threatening injuries."
He added: "No arrests have been made and investigations are ongoing."
