Cops are investigating after a thug kicked a man in the face and broke his jaw outside a Coatbridge pub.
The victim was seriously injured in the unprovoked attack at around 11.15pm outside the bar on Main Street, near Locks Street, last Saturday, July 18.
The 20-year-old was with a friend when one attacker ran from the opposite side of the street and punched his pal in the face.
As he bent down to help his friend, a second man came across the road and kicked him in the face.
The victim managed to make his own way to hospital where he was treated for serious facial injuries.
His friend - a man also aged 20 - escaped serious injured.
Detective David Williamson, Coatbridge CID, said: "As far as we are aware, this was a totally unprovoked attack in which this young man's jaw was broken.
"He required extensive medical treatment and was only yesterday able to report the assault to police."
The only description of his attacker is a white man in his early 20s.
Detective Williamson added: "Officers are checking CCTV from the area which shows a large group of people outside the pub and the disturbance spilling on to the street.
"A number of cars and taxis can be seen having to swerve to avoid the disturbance and so I would appeal to the drivers, especially those with dashcams, to get in touch with police if they think they may have information or footage that will help officers with their investigation."
