A violent thug who blinded a man and set fire to another male in two separate attacks has been jailed for 21 years.
Thomas Frazer thrust a smashed bottle into one of his victim's face leaving him blind in one eye after they rowed outside his flat in Ellesmere Port.
The two, who were not known to each other, were arguing in the early hours of January 16 when the attack took place, The Liverpool Echo reports.
The victim was also left scarred for life.
Chester Crown Court heard two years before Frazer doused his other victim with a flammable liquid and set it alight when he disturbed him as he tried to torch a property in Bootle.
The man, now 46, suffered burns to his arms in the horrific attack which took place in September 2016.
Frazer also set fire to the victim's kitchen but the flames were put out before serious damage took hold.
He admitted arson with intent to endanger life and wounding with intent in connection to the Bootle incident.
Detective Constable John Palmi, who led the investigation into the serious assault in Ellesmere Port for Cheshire Police , said: “I am delighted that Thomas Frazer is now behind bars where he is no longer a danger to the public.
“Not only did he seriously assault a man in Ellesmere Port with a broken bottle and cause him permanent blindness and scarring, he also sprayed a man with flammable liquid and burnt him in Liverpool after attempting to set the house he was in alight.
“The long custodial sentence that Frazer has been handed via the courts reflects the seriousness of the appalling offences he committed.
“I hope that the sentence he has received gives the victims some closure and enables them to move forward with their lives.
“I also hope that the sentence deters others from committing similar crimes."
Frazer will serve a further four years on licence once he is released from prison.
