A THUG battered a man at the TRNSMT music festival and then taunted him, stating: “Ha, ha – get some ice.”
Dean Bowman, from Plains, pounced on his stunned victim – his ex-partner’s brother – at the bash in Glasgow Green in July last year, repeatedly punching him.
Glasgow Sheriff Court heard today (Tuesday) how the 31 year-old later contacted his victim on Facebook.
It was then he made the jibe about the man needing to “get ice”.
Bowman was ordered to carry out 240 hours of unpaid work after he admitted assaulting the male to his injury.
The thug must also pay the man £350 in compensation.
As part of a 12-month community payback order, Bowman was further handed a 72-day curfew meaning he has to stay at home between 8pm and 6.30 am each night.
The court heard how the attack happened after “comments back and forth” between the men.
Prosecutor Alan McArthur said: “Bowman approached from behind and punched him on the head causing him to fall to the ground.
“While the man was on his back, Bowman repeatedly punched him on the head.”
TRANSMT stewards dragged Bowman off his “disorientated” victim.
The attacker fled, but was later traced.
David Fisken, defending, told the court: “The victim is the brother of Mr Bowman’s ex partner.
“There had been a separation. Comments were made... and the red mist came down.”
Bowman was previously jailed in 2018 at Hamilton Sheriff Court for assaulting two women from an ex-lover’s family and bombarding them with phone calls.
A sheriff at the time branded him “dangerous and abusive”.
