Thug armed with shotgun steals cash in terrifying north Dublin supermarket robbery

A thug armed with a shotgun made off with a sum of cash following a terrifying robbery at a north Dublin supermarket.

The frightening incident unfolded at Lidl in Artane Castle at around 8pm this evening.

The thief is understood to have been armed with a shotgun.

No one was hurt in the incident.

Gardai told Dublin Live investigations into the incident are ongoing.

A garda spokeswoman said: "An armed robbery occurred this evening around 8pm at a grocery shop in Artane Castle Friday 31 January, 2020.

"One man entered the premises with what is alleged to be a shotgun. 

"Got a sum of money and left the scene. No person injured."
