Kim Kardashian has sparked a mixed response after sharing a throwback photo of her mother wearing a lemon coloured bikini in the late ‘80s.
The 39-year-old reality star wanted to present an early Mother’s Day gift to her 64-year-old mother by digging out one of her old photographs and sharing it online.
The snap showed Kris displaying a toned figure while wearing a revealing bathing outfit – and the snap had been taken not long after Kris had given birth to her only son, Rob Kardashian, now aged 33.
Taking to Twitter on Friday, and two days before Mother’s Day is observed in North America, Kimmy paid tribute to her mother – and her impressive physique.
Kim shared the snap along with the caption: “Early Mother’s Day appreciation post for my mom!
“I found this pic and this is not long after having her 4th child!
“MAJOR GOALS always in everything you do mom! I love you.”
However the image sparked a sour response from some followers who accused Kim of being shallow about image while celebrating her mother.
One follower sarcastically tweeted in response: “What a deep and meaningful message she sent to you. Stay thin. That’s all.”
Another blasted: “Tell what you love about your mom. Is it her caring? Her understanding? Her boundless love for you? Nope, she got skinny and tan after four babies!! GOALS.”
However, many others shared more positive reactions, with one tweeting: “Kris is and has always been a babe.”
Kim also shared video of a camera she had bought her mother as a Mother’s Day gift – and it was the original camera used by photographer Alfred Garcia at Kris’ 1978 wedding to the late Robert Kardashian, who died in 2003.
Despite Kris and Robert divorcing in 1991, Kim was sure the camera would bring her joy – and she also shared photos of the wedding day from a photo album she had put together as part of the present.
“I was so excited when I found the wedding photographer who shot her and my dads wedding back in 1978,” Kim wrote.
“I purchased the camera he used on their wedding day and the photos and made an album for her. She never had those photos so to see them brought out so many happy tears,” she added.
Kris and Robert remained close following their divorce up until his death, caused by cancer, in 2003.
