Through a fence and into a shed: Abermain driver's licence suspended

A man will face court on a high-range drink-driving charge after a Hunter crash on Sunday night.

Police were called to Abermain about 8.35pm on Sunday, July 5, after initial reports of a crash.

When officers arrived at Baileys Lane, they were told a grey utility had driven through a wire fence and into a timber shed.

Beyond the shed, it had come to a stop against a second wire fence.

Officers spoke to the alleged driver, who police said did not report any injuries.

A roadside breath test on the 35-year-old man returned a positive result.

He was arrested and taken to Cessnock Police Station.

A breath analysis test held at the station returned an alleged reading of 0.256, police said.

The main received a court attendance notice for high-range drink-driving.

His licence was also suspended.

The 35-year-old is scheduled to face Cessnock Local Court in August, police said.
