Thrills and spills in air and on land for Hunter Valley Airshow

Aviation enthusiasts will flock to Cessnock for this weekend's Hunter Valley Airshow but not all eyes will be skyward.

With just as much entertainment on the ground, large crowds are expected on Saturday at Cessnock Airport with the event continuing on Sunday.

The rare warbird the S4U Corsair, one of the most famous fighters in WWII, is a major drawcard.

The big ticket item for aviation enthusiasts at the Hunter Valley Airshow this weekend is the rare warbird the S4U Corsair, one of the most famous fighters in WWII.

Also in the line up to take to take-off is the iconic Spitfire along with a Hurricane and a Mustang along with many more.

The popular RAAF Roulettes will also take to the skies for their aerobatic display and the Australian Defence Force will have military vehicles on display.

There's a massive kids' zone with amusement rides, market stalls and beer and wine garden featuring the best of the Hunter Valley beverages. Food vendors are also all locally sourced.

In a world first champion pilot Paul Bennet and motocross master will team up for a stunt that involves a plane, a motorbike and one big ramp.

The Hot Wheels Stunt Team will drift race down the runway and race pilot Paul Bennet in the sky.
