All of them were in their 20s and were today identified as Nathan Corrigan, Petey McNamee and Peter Finnegan.

They died at the scene of the accident after their car collided with a lorry at the Omagh Road area of Garvaghy at around 1.50 am.

According to reports, Nathan Corrigan played with Beragh Red Knights GAA club and while Peter Finnegan with Clogher Éire Óg.

Since the accident, parish priest in Beragh, Monsignor Colum Curry, revealed that he attended the scene of the crash, and told BBC's Good Morning Ulster: "It was a horrific accident - a lot of debris scattered over the road, the car was on its roof.

"The whole event just reminded me that life is precious and very fragile.

"There are very few words that I think can adequately speak into such terrible anguish," he continued.

"I suppose the best we can do is just try to be present and help them in some small way just to cope with the darkness of this awful event.

"It has just been a huge shock to everybody."

Police are continuing to appeal to people who may have been in the area at the time of the crash to contact them, particularly those with dashcam footage who may have witnessed the incident.
