Three-year-old girl seriously injured after being knocked down by car in Fife

A three-year-old girl has been taken to hospital with serious injuries after being knocked down by a car in Fife.

Emergency services were called to Main Street in Townhill, near Dunfermline, at around 10.10am Monday following the collision.

Officers raced to the scene and closed down the busy road while dealing with the incident.

Drivers are being urged to avoid the area in Townhill (Twitter)

She was taken to the Victoria Hospital in Kirkcaldy by ambulance for treatment.

A Police Scotland spokesman said: "Police were called around 10.10am on Monday, 3 August, 2020, following the report of a car colliding with a three -year-old child on Main Street Townhill, Dunfermline.

"Emergency services attended and the girl has been taken to the Victoria Hospital for treatment of serious injuries.

"The road is currently closed and motorists are advised to avoid the area at this time."
