Three-year-old child knocked over by van in Swansea's Mumbles Road

A three-year-old boy was knocked over by a van in Mumbles Road on Sunday evening.

The incident in Swansea happened at around 7.30pm on September 20.

It is understood that the driver of the van did initially stop at the scene and get out of the vehicle to check on the child, but then drove away before police arrived.

Earlier today officers were appealing for the driver of the red van involved the "minor" crash to get in touch, along with any witnesses. They said the driver had since been contacted.

The child was taken to hospital where he was treated for a broken leg.

A spokeswoman for South Wales Police urged any witnesses to come forward.

They are asked to call 101 and provide the reference *345063.
