Three-year-old child died after fatal head injury, inquest hears

The inquest into the death of a three-year-old boy who suffered a fatal head injury opened this week.

Tot Harvey Borrington, tragically died on August 8 due to a head injury, according to a preliminary post mortem.

He died at Queen’s Medical Centre and was identified by his mother.

The inquest began on Monday September 20 and the case was adjourned for a future hearing, yet to be announced, according to Nottinghamshire Live.

Inquests are set up to allow coroners to examine the deaths of people whose deaths need explaining.

Mr Gordon Clow, assistant coroner for Nottinghamshire, opened the inquest and said: “A post mortem examination was carried out. A final report is not available but the provisional cause of death is 1a a head injury.

“The hearing is adjourned for further enquiries to be completed, it will be resumed on a date yet to be fixed.”
