Missing three-year-old boy found in WA's south-west

The three-year-old boy was reported missing at 7:30am on Saturday.

A three-year-old boy missing in dense bushland in Western Australia's south-west has been found safe and well.

A massive air and land search was launched after James wandered off from a holiday home near Yallingup this morning.

There were concerns due to heavy rainfall and hail in the area today.

It is understood he was found by a family member on Saturday evening.

Police said ensuring the toddler is in good health was a priority.

"Given the time he has spent exposed to the rough terrain and poor weather conditions, arrangements will be made for him to have a medical check-up as a precaution," a WA Police spokesperson said.

"WA Police Force thanks all the emergency service volunteers and community members who assisted with the search."

Earlier, Inspector Martin Voyez from the South West District Police said the boy had been playing at the front of a holiday home.

"His mother noticed he was missing when she went out to check on him," he said.

"She made a thorough check of the area but could not find him."

James was reported missing just after 7:30am on Saturday.
