Three-year-old boy critically ill after being hit by a car in Pontypridd

A three-year-old boy is critically ill in hospital after being hit by a car in Pontypridd.

The incident happened on Garth Avenue, Glyncoch, shortly before 4.30pm on Sunday.

The child, a pedestrian who lives locally, was taken to the University Hospital of Wales, Cardiff, where he remains in a critical condition.

The driver of the vehicle – a silver Ford Fiesta – was uninjured.

Police are now appealing for any witnesses to come forward.

Anyone who witnessed the collision, or who has CCTV, mobile phone or dash-cam footage which could assist the investigation, is asked to contact South Wales Police on 101, quoting occurrence 1900351232.
