Three women suspected of attempting to steal 291 items - totalling more than £1,300 - from Primark

Three women are suspected of attempting to steal more than £1,300-worth of items from Primark in Manchester city centre during a shoplifting spree.

The trio are alleged to have spent an hour filling up shopping baskets with items from the Market Street store.

Police said the women are then suspected of stuffing the goods into three suitcases, also from the shop, before trying to walk out.

They were stopped at the exit and detained by security staff.

There were 291 items, totalling £1,318.
