Three ways Tottenham could line up next season after Yves Bissouma transfer completed

Tottenham have already acted fast in the summer window, as Antonio Conte aims to take Spurs to the next level following the club securing Champions League football last season.

Ivan Perisic and Fraser Forster have both been signed on free transfers, with the club now bolstering their midfield options with Yves Bissouma. A £25million transfer has been completed with Brighton for the 25-year-old's services, with the midfielder signing a four-year deal in North London.

The former Lille midfielder has been a revelation since arriving in England, flourishing under both a defensive coach in Chris Hughton and a progressive one in Graham Potter.

Spurs fans should be excited by his arrival, and here football.london takes a look at three possible ways the Lilywhites could line up in the presence of the Mali international.

Bissouma - Bentancur partnership

It's fully expected that Conte will persist with his baseline 3-4-3 formation, and in this system, Bissouma operating alongside Rodrigo Bentancur would offer great balance in the engine room, with the former given a more defensive role and the latter given greater freedom to demonstrate progressive qualities in possession.

Option 1: Lloris; Romero, Dier, Davies; Doherty, Bissouma, Bentancur, Perisic; Kulusevski, Kane, Son.

The option of a 4-3-3

While Bissouma is well known for his ability to operate in front of the backline and effectively act as the team's anchor, he offers plenty of versatility. During his time in France, he played many games as a left central midfielder, where he showed prowess on the ball.

By no means is it his best position, but it gives Conte the possibility to explore other avenues during different game states. When pushing for a goal, perhaps the Italian could revert to a back four and push Bissouma higher, with Dejan Kulusevski moving inside on the right and Perisic holding the flank.

Option 2: Lloris; Doherty, Romero, Dier, Sessegnon; Bentancur, Kulusevski, Bissouma; Perisic, Kane, Son

A third centre-back option

Another perhaps unorthodox role and extremely unlikely to be deployed, but given the fact that Brighton frequently build attacks out from the back in a three, Bissouma, on many occasions, has been tasked to drop in between the centre-backs and offer progression. It's certainly an option.

Option 3: Lloris; Romero, Bissouma, Davies; Doherty, Bissouma, Hojbjerg, Perisic; Kulusevski, Kane, Son
