Liverpool are reportedly on the verge of completing a deal to sign Ibrahima Konate from RB Leipzig in a deal that could completely change the way the Reds play.
The Premier League champions are closing in on signing Konate, despite having brought in Ozan Kabak and Ben Davies during the January transfer window.
Liverpool will likely have to pay Konate's £40million release clause, and his arrival will likely change the way Jurgen Klopp lines his side up.
Fans have been calling for the German boss to make some changes in the wake of their dire slump in form after their title challenge capitulated in spectacular fashion.
Georginio Wijnaldum will likely move on, with the Dutch midfielder out of contract and close to a move to Barcelona, and it seems the days of a three-man central midfield could be over.
Mirror Football has taken a look at four ways the Reds could play next season.

3-4-3 - The Guardiola style
Liverpool have stayed loyal to the 4-3-3 formation that they used to win the Champions League and Premier League in back-to-back years, but changing to a 3-4-3 might improve things.
With Konate alongside Virgil van Dijk and Joe Gomez at the back in a three-man defence, Andy Robertson and Trent Alexander-Arnold would have licence to get forward knowing they have a solid safety net behind them.
Playing Thiago Alcantara and Jordan Henderson in the middle of midfield would give them the chance to play the ball out wide to the two full-backs who, playing as wide midfielders, can use their crossing ability to get the ball into the box.
The two full-backs playing so high up the pitch would allow for Sadio Mane and Mohamed Salah to play as inside forwards, with Roberto Firmino playing as a false nine, arguably his most natural position.

4-2-3-1 - The Jota option
Konate's arrival might well see Gomez drop out of the side from time to time once he returns from his brutal knee injury.
While playing as a 3-4-3 would likely give Liverpool more attacking options, playing a four-man defence has worked well for the Reds in the past, and it is unlikely that Klopp will deviate from that playing style.
Playing a 4-2-3-1 would, however, still give Klopp more attackers at his disposal, with Diogo Jota allowed to play as either a number ten or central striker.
The Portuguese ace has been superb since joining the club, and it seems likely that he'll have a huge role to play in the future, and with Thiago and Henderson playing as two central defensive midfielders, the team will have more licence to get the ball forward.
Liverpool's 4-2-3-1 line-up: Alisson; Robertson, Konate, Van Dijk, Alexander-Arnold; Thiago, Henderson; Mane, Jota, Salah; Firmino

4-2-4 - All out attack
A more extreme option here, but Liverpool have been known for their all-out attack, and will be able to do so even more with Konate and Van Dijk at the back.
Playing a 4-2-4 would allow for Klopp's side to go all-out and get forward, while the formation would double as a 4-4-2 when defending.
Salah and Mane out wide would have to track back and cover the wide midfield positions and get back whenever they lose the ball, while not sacrificing any firepower up front.
Jota and Firmino as two centre-forwards would likely stay up whenever the Reds don't have the ball, while the solid back line would give the attackers freedom to go upfield.

4-3-3 - Tried and tested style
Liverpool's usual formation is the one Klopp will more than likely use going forward.
With Wijnaldum on the way out, Fabinho will likely move from the back into the middle of midfield again having shone this season in Van Dijk and Gomez's place.
While there's no room for Jota in this line-up, he can still have a role from the bench and replace Firmino when needed to.
The 4-3-3 formation has worked in Liverpool's favour for many years now, and it seems that once the core of the side is back and fit, they could return to being the unstoppable force they were last season.
