Three ways Antonio Conte can lineup his Tottenham side vs West Ham as Son decision made

Tottenham travel across London to play their second London derby of the season on Wednesday. Antonio Conte's side take on West Ham at the London Stadium, with the Hammers only winning one out of their four matches so far.

David Moyes' side will be looking to get back into solid form. Meanwhile, Spurs will be hoping to add to their three out of four wins for the season so far.

On Monday, Conte gave an update on his injured players. "About [Cristian] Romero and [Oliver] Skippy. Today they did the training session with us," he explained.

"For sure we have to wait, to tell that [if] they are completely recovered, but this is a good sign for us, for the player.

"About Lucas [Moura], he has this inflammation in his tendon. I hope to recover him very soon, because for sure when I was a player I had a lot of pain in my tendon. You know very well tendon inflammation doesn’t finish in only one week, two weeks. I hope to have him early with us. About [Bryan] Gil...Gil is not still available but in 2-3 days he will start to work and to recover," Conte added.

So there may be some decisions the Italian must make, based on fitness. However even if Romero is fit, it may not be worth risking him yet, with Davinson Sanchez performing well and the amount of fixtures to come.

There are a number of changes Conte could make but whether he will, remains to be seen. football.london takes a look at some of the ways the 53-year-old could lineup his Spurs side against West Ham on Wednesday evening.

Lloris; Sanchez, Dier, Davies; Emerson, Hojbjerg, Bissouma, Sessegnon; Kulusevski, Richarlison, Kane

Conte could make a couple of changes when his side face West Ham. Ivan Perisic has started the last two matches and impressed with his work rate down the left flank and impact in attack.

The Italian may decide to stick with the Croatian in the London derby, given his age and experience. However it may be a chance for Ryan Sessegnon to slot back into the starting line-up and try and prove why he deserves to keep his spot.

The youngster has more Premier League experience than the Croatian and his pace may hand him a start in East London. Whoever starts the match, the other may be brought on as a substitute, so Conte will need that player to be ready.

Another change that may be made is Richarlion stepping in for Son Heung-min. The Brazilian has also impressed since his arrival, coming off the bench and making an impact in the final third, as well as showing his aggression and skill.

Son Heung-min has had a quiet start to the season and a big game like this could be when Richarlison comes in and has a chance to really impress and it will also give the South Korean a chance for a rest.

Lloris; Sanchez, Dier, Davies; Emerson, Hojbjerg, Bissouma, Perisic; Kulusevski, Kane, Son

After Sunday's 2-0 victory against Nottingham Forest, Conte was yet again asked about Son's performance. "I understood Sonny is a really sensible player," he admitted.

"He's really sensible and a top man, a really good guy. If I am to make an example, I have to find a husband for my daughter I'd like to be a person like him. You understand? Sometimes is good but at same time I think so much sensible.

"In this moment maybe he's suffering a lot that he's not scoring. But he has to continue in this way and trust himself because in every game he has the opportunity, the chance to score and then he has to be calm. We trust him and his teammates," Conte added.

"You know very well the importance of this player with Harry Kane and for sure he's a bit disappointed that he's not scoring but no problem. For me, Sonny will always be a nut in my team, in my ambition of football."

Despite his performances being below his normal level, the Tottenham boss doesn't seem worried, which can only be a good thing. Conte has kept the South Korean in the starting XI for all four games this season so far and may keep his trust in the 30-year-old and hope the London derby can be where Son really steps up.

Rodrigo Bentancur's form has been decent and the January arrival has started all four matches so far. However Yves Bissouma's appearances from the bench have shown glimpses of his quality and strength.

The ex-Brighton player has plenty of Premier League experience and so there shouldn't be much hesitation in introducing him to a tough game like Wednesday's, if Conte wanted to.

Lloris; Sanchez, Dier, Davies; Doherty, Hojbjerg, Bentancur, Perisic; Kulusevski, Richarlison, Kane

However, as is the case with Son, Bentancur has been selected in all four games so far. Conte will have to make a decision of whether he changes up his line-up in a London derby or if he perhaps sticks with most of those players he has been selecting and make sure the substitutes are ready to come on.

Spurs will have just a few days to prepare for their next fixture against Fulham, after the West Ham clash and Conte has already said, "Now it's normal, when you have to play one game every three days it's normal to make rotation."

Therefore some changes may be seen and this could come with the right wing-back spot. Despite splitting fans opinions, Emerson Royal has been given the nod in the first four matches, with Djed Spence coming on as a substitute against his former side on Sunday.

However Matt Doherty is yet to get a starting spot in this campaign so far and only came on as a substitute in the opening match. The Brazilian hasn't been performing poorly, but it may be a chance for Doherty to not only try and impress his boss but also give Royal a rest, especially with the amount of fixtures scheduled.
