Three Virgin Train bosses quit after 'lewd text messages about female staff'

Three bosses at Virgin Trains have had to quit after allegedly exchanging lewd texts.

The trio are said to have used company phones to send messages, some of them sexual, about female staff.

The three men and two other senior colleagues left last week.

Most went by mutual consent with several months’ salary.

Sir Richard Branson’s Virgin Group is aware of the details.

The damaging claims come with the train operator still reeling from losing the West Coast mainline franchise.

Natasha Grice, of Virgin Trains, said: “We investigate any allegations of inappropriate behaviour. We confirm five people left.”
