Three to face trial over attempted murder charges after Warrington shooting

Three men are set to face trial later this year over charges of attempted murder following a shooting in Warrington.

A trial has been set after a 55-year-old man was shot in the leg in the town.

Cheshire police rushed to Poplars Avenue in Orford, Warrington, shortly before 9pm on April 24 this year.

Since the incident, three men have been charged with attempted murder and possession of a firearm with intent to endanger life.

Anthony Morris, 22, of no fixed address pleaded not guilty to the charges on May 27 at Liverpool Crown Court.

Today (June 15) Aaron Bretherton, 23, of Netherfield Road South in Liverpool, and Lewis Fitzpatrick, 25, of Eldersfield Road in Liverpool, also pleaded not guilty to attempted murder during a remote hearing at Liverpool Crown Court.

A trial date has been set for all three defendants on October 26, when they will appear at Liverpool Crown Court.

All defendants have been remanded in custody until that date.
