Three things we spotted in Tottenham training ahead of Crystal Palace clash

The 2019/20 season is drawing to a close as Tottenham play their final match of the campaign.

Spurs take on out-of-form Crystal Palace at Selhurst Park knowing that a draw could be enough to see them take sixth place in the table, depending on how Wolves fare against Chelsea.

It has been a tough season for Tottenham, with Jose Mourinho replacing the outgoing Mauricio Pochettino back in November after a difficult start.

Spurs will be looking to end the season on a high and ensure that European football will remain at the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium for the 2020/21 campaign.

Mourinho admits Spurs in 'hands of others' in battle for European qualification

Ahead of the match against the Eagles, the players have been hard at work on the training pitches at Enfield.

Here are three things that we at football.london noticed from the training sessions.

Coach gets involved

Tottenham Hotspur goalkeeping coach Nuno Santos is a former goalkeeper himself and joined the club in November.

The Portuguese spent time at Leeds United during his playing career, but spent the majority of his time in his home land.

It seems that the 47-year-old has been rolling back the years during training at Spurs this week, with pictures showing him having a stint in goal, making a flying save to his left as he proved that he still has it to the players he now mentors.

Wonderkid looks to impress

Tottenham youngster Dennis Cirkin has been in and around the first-team this season, but is yet to make his Tottenham debut.

The left-back was an unused substitute for the Premier League game against Everton this month, and was named on the bench for the FA Cup games against Middlesbrough and Southampton.

The teenager has one last chance to make the pitch this weekend, and has been showing what he can do in first team training this week ahead of the game.

Foyth continues comeback

Jose Mourinho received a welcome injury boost in the last couple of weeks, with full-back Juan Foyth making his comeback after a long injury layoff.

His absence meant that Tottenham only had one recognised right back in Serge Aurier in the squad, but Foyth was fit enough to be named on the bench in last week’s win over Leicester City although he didn’t make it onto the pitch.

Ahead of the final game of the season, Foyth has been pictured in full training with the first team with the aim of completing his comeback before the end of the 2019/20 season.
