Three things spotted in Edinson Cavani's first Manchester United training session

Edinson Cavani trained with his new Manchester United teammates for the first time ahead of Tuesday's Champions League meeting with Paris Saint-Germain.

The 33-year-old joined United on a free transfer after leaving the Ligue 1 champions on a free transfer. Cavani lifted six league titles during his time in France on his way to becoming the club's record goal scorer.

Cavani was unable to feature in the win against Newcastle on Saturday as a result of self-isolation COVID-19 guidelines following his arrival in the UK, meaning his debut could come against his former team.

The forward trained with some members of the United squad on Sunday and here are three things we spotted during the session.

Cavani all smiles

United's new No.7 looked delighted as he trained at Carrington for the first time.

Cavani kept fans updated on his fitness with multiple social media posts during his period in isolation and looked sharp as he took part in a rondo with his new teammates.

The Uruguay international was captured in conversation with fellow deadline day signing Alex Telles as well as Paul Pogba as he continues to integrate into the group.

Ole Gunnar Solskjaer is expected to provide an update on his availability for the PSG game during his pre-match press conference on Monday evening.

Rojo and Tuanzebe involved

After failing to secure an exit in the summer transfer window, Marcos Rojo was spotted training with the first team again.

Rojo trained separately from the main group while the window was open along with Chris Smalling. Smalling joined Roma permanently on deadline day but United were unable to offload Rojo.

Ole Gunnar Solskjaer all but confirmed the defender had asked to leave but is set to stay at the club until January when he can negotiate a pre-contract agreement with foreign clubs.

Rojo, along with Phil Jones and Sergio Romero, was omitted from United's Champions League squad named earlier this month and is not eligible to face PSG.

Axel Tuanzebe also featured in the session as he nears a return to action after 10 months out of action.

Alex Telles awaits first-team debut

United fans are still waiting to see Telles in action for the first time following his summer switch from Porto. Solskjaer hinted the Brazilian could be involved against Newcastle but he was an unused substitute.

Telles trained on Sunday ahead of the game against PSG where he could make his first Reds appearance. The 27-year-old has 37 Champions League appearances under his belt from time in Portugal and Turkey.

Brandon Williams was also involved after failing to make the squad that travelled to St. James Park.
