Three teens are charged in connection to a robbery early Thursday on a Red Line train on the South Side.

Two men, ages 62 and 72, were on a southbound train about 12:12 a.m. when they were attacked by a group of teens, Chicago police said.

The 62-year-old was hit in the face, while the 72-year-old was dragged to the ground, police said. The group then stole the men’s bags. The teens left the train at 47th Street and went on a northbound train to 35th Street, where they were arrested by officers.

Two 15-year-old boys face two counts of robbery each, and a third 15-year-old boy faces two counts of theft, police said. Two other people were released without charges.

The men refused medical treatment.
