Three teenagers were arrested after a man was slashed multiple times outside a Halewood pub.
Emergency services were called to the Reverend Plummer on Church Road shortly after midnight to reports that a 33-year-old man had been injured .
The man was taken to hospital for treatment to slash wounds on his stomach, neck and back.
A spokesperson for Merseyside Police said that three teenagers from Widnes and Halewood had been arrested on suspicion of assault and were still in custody.
In a statement, the force said: " Merseyside Police can confirm three people have been arrested following reports of a fight outside of the Reverend Plumber pub in Church Road, Halewood in the early hours of this morning (Sunday, 7 April.)
"Emergency services were called at around 12.15am, to reports a 33-year-old man had been injured.

"He was taken to hospital where he was treated for superficial slash wounds to his abdomen, neck and back.
"Two males, aged 18 years from Hale, Widnes and a 17 year-old male from the Halewood area have been arrested on suspicion of assault, they remain in police custody for questioning."
A cordon is currently in place around the former Eagle and Child pub, to allow forensic examinations to be carried out.
Officers are in the area speaking to witnesses while CCTV from the pub and surrounding areas is being sought as part of their investigation.
