Three teenagers arrested over assault of a man in St Anne's

Three teenagers were arrested by police over the assault of a man in a residential street in St Anne's.

The teenagers - two aged 19 and one 17 - have since been released under investigation while inquiries continue.

The incident centred on Ipswich Drive, which was closed by police from Friday (March 6) night to Saturday.

The victim was left with facial and leg injuries.

The teenagers were all arrested on suspicion of motor vehicle theft, burglary and assault.

One of the 19-year-olds was also arrested on suspicion of failure to stop a motor vehicle.

Police originally said: “We’re investigating an incident in which a man was assaulted by several other people in Ipswich Drive, Bristol.

“The offenders left the scene in two or three vehicles.

“The victim has been taken to hospital for treatment to facial and leg injuries. His condition is not life-threatening.

“House-to-house enquiries have been carried out and enquiries are continuing today.

“If anyone has information, we’d ask them to call us on 101 and give the call handler the reference number 5220055076.”

Bristol Live has contacted Avon and Somerset Police to ask why the teenagers were arrested and they are yet to respond.
