Three teenagers arrested after spate of Bristol bike thefts

Three teenagers from east Bristol have been arrested in connection with a spate of bike thefts and burglary offences.

A 16-year-old boy from Staple Hill, and two boys - one aged 15 and the other 17 - from St George, have been arrested on suspicion of seven counts of burglary and one count of theft.

The 15 and 16-year old boys were also arrested on suspicion of possession of Class B drugs.

The arrests, which were made on Saturday (August 10), come after an appeal was issued to help find the owners of suspected stolen bicycles which resulted in owners from Bath, Downend, Hanham, Nailsea, Portishead, Clifton and St George all identifying their bikes.

The three boys have been released under investigation and enquiries are still ongoing.

Officers are currently in the process of reuniting the stolen bicycles with their original owners.

Avon and Somerset Constabulary has reissued their advice for keeping bicycles safe from thieves in the wake of the arrests.
