Three teenage boys were rescued after getting cut off by the tide at Sand Point in Roker.
Volunteers from the RNLI went to the boys' rescue at around 4.30pm on Saturday, June 26.
They quickly found the three teenagers with help from Sunderland Port Patrol and the Sunderland Coastguard Rescue Team.

RNLI Sunderland said rescue teams found the boys to be in good health apart from being wet and suffering from the cold.
They were transferred from the small beach to the Patrol Vessel which then took them to Sunderland Marina while the RNLI crew recovered their mountain bikes.
After getting back to shore, all three teenagers were passed into the care of the South Shields Volunteer Life Brigade.
A Sunderland RNLI spokesperson said: “The four emergency teams were able to carry out a successful rescue of the three boys and it is vitally important that people remember to check the tide times before they undertake any coastal activities.”
It came in a busy 24 hours for Sunderland Coastguard Rescue Team as they were called out four times in 24 hours.
Volunteers were first called to assist Northumbria Police with an incident that was taking place in Sunderland city centre on Saturday morning.
They were stood down on rouse as they were no longer required.
After assisting with the rescue of the three teenagers in Roker in the afternoon, they were called out again at 11pm to help police with an incident in South Hylton.
Coastguard Officers stood by in water rescue equipment but were not required.
The final callout was at around 4am on Sunday, June 27, when volunteers were called by police for a third time to help with a search in the Marsden area.
As they were on route to the scene, the casualty was found by police officers and the volunteers were stood down.
