Three takeaways from the Bears’ home finale Sunday night:
Mack attack. Khalil Mack’s first and only tackle against the Packers came with 91 seconds to play and the Bears’ rivals running out the clock. The outside linebacker got into the box score much faster Sunday night, sacking Chiefs quarterback Patrick Mahomes about 10 minutes into the game. Before Sunday, Mack had totaled two sacks in his last seven games.
A long one: Remember when Eddy Pineiro missed two field goals in the first quarter against the Rams and seemed to lose Matt Nagy’s trust? The Bears kicker hadn’t attempted a kick of 40-plus yards since then — a span of five weeks — until making a 46-yard field goal at the end of the third quarter Sunday.
Coward out. Right guard Rashaad Coward, whom the Bears were eager to evaluate through the rest of the season, left in the second quarter with a knee injury. He was replaced by veteran Ted Larsen, who is not under contract next season.
