Three-star tight end Joe Royer stays home, commits to Ohio State

There’s been a slew of commits giving their verbal to Ohio State as of late. And you can add another one to the mix with the announcement of three-star tight end from Cincinnati Joe Royer.

Royer took to Twitter earlier today to announce that he’s staying home and going to be a part of the class of 2020. He may not be the most highly rated recruit according to multiple recruiting services, but Ryan Day and company like his potential. Plus he’s one of those Ohio kids that Day is trying to keep close to home going forward.

According to 247Sports, he’s rated as the No. 13 tight end and eleventh recruit in the entire state of Ohio. But he could be more than that like many other three-star recruits that continue to progress.

At 6-5, 225 lbs, Royer has a big frame and catch radius and he’ll put even more weight on when he gets in the program and starts to drink the Mickey Marotti Kool-Aid.
