Three-star defensive lineman decommits from UGA football

The Georgia Bulldogs received a commitment from three-star in-state defensive tackle Marlin Dean back in March. Now, Dean is backing off his initial commitment. Dean is a high school football player at Elbert County High School, which is located in Elberton, Georgia.

He is a member in the class of 2021 and was Kirby Smart’s first commitment in the trenches for the class. During his four seasons in Athens, Smart has transformed the trenches on both sides of the football.

Dean announced his decision via his Twitter account:

I want to thank the university of Georgia for giving me the opportunity to play at a high level but after having a sit down with family this was the best decision for me.I have decided to decommit an open my recruitment!!!!GO DOGS 🤟🏾🔴⚫️🐶

Georgia football currently has ten commitments in the class of 2021. The Bulldogs will be looking for a defensive tackle to commit as Dan Lanning and company currently only have defensive end commitments in the class.
