Three-star center Rodney Howard committed to UGA basketball just one day after F Nic Claxton decided to stay in the NBA Draft. Howard originally committed to Ole Miss, but asked to be withdrawn. Howard’s second choice in his top two was Georgia Tech.
Howard announced the news today on Twitter:
Howard caps off Georgia’s excellent recruiting class for basketball, which will finish in the top ten. Howard is a 6-10 center, who is ranked as a top 40 center by 247sports. He will bring some rebounding bulk to the recruiting class, which lacked size on the interior.
Howard joins Rayshaun Hammonds and Amanze Ngumezi as key pieces in the UGA front court for 2019. At the very least, Howard adds depth and provides a safety net if Hammonds gets in foul trouble.
