THREE Scots are among the contestants on a new BBC reality series – a reboot of Survivor.
The new UK series is set to be hosted by Joel Dommett and will see contestants "marooned in a tropical location where they are divided into two tribes, competing against each other in a range of physical and mental challenges" in an attempt to be crowned the Sole Survivor.
One by one, players are voted out at the iconic Tribal Council until only one remains, winning the cash prize of £100,000.
Survivor UK returns to television screens for the first time in more than 20 years after first airing with ITV back in 2001/02.
Among the 18 contestants are three Scots, including flood risk consultant Doug, 32, from the Isle of Mull. He said he thought his height would come in handy for the show and added: “I was hopeful I could put my height, I’m 6ft 4in, to good use and help my tribe get to those hard-to-reach places, get the shelter up, and hopefully be a useful asset for the challenges.
Another contestant called Rach, 23, is a personal trainer from Glasgow, and said her body was fatigued when she went on the show as she had been dieting for 15 weeks to prepare for a photoshoot.
Richard, 36, from Dalkeith in Scotland, meanwhile, is a pension manager and RAF reservist who said he is “always looking for a new challenge”.
