Three rushed to hospital as cops probe multi-vehicle crash in the Highlands

Three people have been hospitalised after a multi-vehicle crash on one of Scotland's busiest roads.

Three cars collided on the A9 at Cuach, around four miles north of Dalwhinnie in the Highlands on Friday.

Emergency services were called to the scene at 6.36pm.

A black Vauxhall Zafira, a red Audi A3 and a silver Volkdwagon Touran were involved.

Two men and a woman were rushed to Raigmore Hospital in Inverness for treatment.

Police did not disclose their current medical conditions or whether they were passengers or drivers.

Officers did state, however, that none of their injuries 'are believed to be life-threatening'.

Highlands and Islands Police Division have launched an investigation into the crash.

Witnesses, those with dash-cam footage or anyone with information is being urged to come forward.

Sergeant Neil MacDonald said: “Our enquiries into the cause of this crash are ongoing and we are appealing to anyone who was in the area at the time to please get in touch.

“In particular, we are keen to speak to anyone who saw the cars or who may have dash-cam footage that can help with our investigation.

“If you can help, please contact us on 101, quoting reference 2819 of December 3.”
