Three Raiders among Pro Football Hall of Fame modern-era semifinalists

Today, the Pro Football Hall of Fame announced their 25 modern-era semifinalists for the class of 2021. Making it through are first-year eligible DB Charles Woodson along with CB Eric Allen and DL Richard Seymour.

Woodson is a shoo-in to get in the Hall on the first ballot after an 18-year career in which he was named to the Pro Bowl nine times, All-Pro three times, Rookie of the Year, once a Defensive Player of the Year and Super Bowl champion.

Seymour and Allen are less assured.

Former Raiders who were among the nominees but didn’t make the cut were Justin Tuck, G Steve Wisniewski, DT La’Roi Glover, DE Greg Townsend, DE Pat Swilling, and CB Albert Lewis.

You can see the full list of 25 modern-era semifinalists here.

Along with almost certainly Charles Woodson figures to be Raiders head coach Tom Flores who is the lone coaching finalist via the Senior Committee.

From here a group of 18 finalists (15 modern-era, 3 senior committee). From there a group of between four and eight to be enshrined. The announcement will take place on February 6, just prior to the Super bowl.
