Three people taken to hospital and air ambulance called after 'serious' collision in Oldham

The Air Ambulance has been called to a 'serious' collision in Oldham .

Three people have been taken to hospital following a crash between two cars on Drury Lane in Chadderton .

Police, ambulance and fire crews were called to the scene shortly before 5pm on Sunday afternoon.

The Air Ambulance was also in attendance but is not clear how the casualties were conveyed to hospital.

Manchester Fire Service confirmed that one casualty had to be cut out of a vehicle using specialist equipment.

The extent of their injuries are not yet clear.

A spokesperson for Greater Manchester Fire Service said: "Two fire engines attended as well as the Technical Response Unit.

"It was a two vehicle road traffic collision with one casualty trapped inside a vehicle.

"We released the person from the vehicle and the casualties have been conveyed to hospital via the North West Ambulance Service . "

A spokesperson for Greater Manchester Police confirmed an The Air Ambulance had been called to the scene.
