Three people taken to hospital after 'horrendous' crash in Ramsbottom

Three people have been taken to hospital after a multi-vehicle crash in Ramsbottom.

Four fire engines crews called to Longsight Road around 12.50am on Saturday morning to what witnesses described as a 'horrendous' crash between a number of vehicles.

Two casualties had to be rescued from a vehicle by fire crews.

Three people were taken to hospital by ambulance.

The extent of their injuries are not known.

A spokesperson for Greater Manchester Fire Service said: "Just after 12.50am we were called to a multi-vehicle collision on Longsight Road in Ramsbottom.

"Four fire engines attended and two casualties had to be rescued by fire crews.

"Three people were taken to hospital by ambulance."
