Three people were randomly shot on the same road in a suspected air-gun attack.
The victims were all walking separately on Bewesey Road in Warrington.
Police said today they were all lucky to escape serious being seriously hurt and have appealed for information to identify the culprit.
The incident happened at about 10pm on Monday May 24th and the three people hit suffered minor injuries.
In a statement Cheshire Constabulary said: "It is believed the injuries were caused by a pellet-type weapon.
"Police quickly attended the scene and made a search of the area but found no trace of the offenders."
Sergeant Mark Spaven said: “Although the investigation is in its early stages, a number of enquiries are underway and I would like to reassure the public that we are doing all we can to find those responsible and bring them to justice.
“As part of our enquiries, we have been looking at nearby CCTV but are keen to hear from anyone who may have witnessed the incident or perhaps was driving in the area around the time and has caught dashcam footage of the offenders.
“The same goes to anyone who may have information on who is responsible. We take reports such as this extremely seriously and it is very lucky that the victims sustained only minor injuries.
