Three people have been rushed to hospital after a serious crash on a busy Irish road.
Part of the N72 outside Mallow in Co Cork has been shut as a result of the incident.
Emergency services are currently on the scene after the two-vehicle collision at around 10am, Cork Beo reports.
Three people were taken to Cork University Hospital for medical treatment for their injuries.
The extent of their injuries are not yet known.
The section of road currently remains closed both ways and Gardai have diversions in place.
A Garda spokesman said: "Gardaí and emergency services are currently attending the scene of a two-vehicle traffic collision that occurred on Navigation Road in Mallow, Co Cork at approximately 10am this morning, Thursday, the 27th of May 2021.
"Three individuals have been conveyed to Cork University Hospital for treatment of injuries sustained as a result of this incident.
"The road has currently been closed and local diversions are in place while emergency services attend the scene."
There are reports of heavy traffic around the general Mallow area following the incident.
AA Roadwatch said: "West of Mallow, the N72 Navigation Rd is closed outside Mallow Racecourse as emergency services deal with a collision. Traffic is being diverted and there are delays both ways on approach to the incident.
"In Mallow Town, there are delays on all approaches to the Annabella R/A. It's also busy approaching works on the N72 at the turn-off for Spa Springs."
