Three people rushed to hospital after horror A90 two-vehicle crash

Three people have been rushed to hospital following a horror road crash in Aberdeenshire.

Emergency services were rushed to the scene around 10.20pm yesterday, March 11.

Ambulance crews carried three people to Aberdeen Royal Infirmary following the incident in the area around Ellon South Roundabout onto the B9005.

The crash involved a black BMW 318 and a red Ford Fiesta which were travelling southbound.

A 23-year-old woman, a passenger in the Fiesta, and a 29-year old man, the driver of the BMW, were both rushed to hospital with serious injuries.

The 24-year-old driver of the Fiesta was also taken to hospital with minor injuries.

The 28-year-old passenger of the BMW was not injured.

Officers closed the major route off to drivers this morning as accident investigations are continuing however the road reopened at 10am.

Police are appealing to anyone with information to come forward.

Traffic Scotland have released warnings and urged people to find alternative routes where possible.

A spokesperson for the Scottish Ambulance Service, said: “We received a call at 22.22 to attend a two car road traffic collision on A90, Tipperty, Ellon.

“A range of resources attended the scene and three patients were transported to Aberdeen Royal Infirmary.”

Road policing Sergeant Craig McNeill said: “Our enquiries into the crash are ongoing and I would urge anyone who may have seen what happened or the cars involved prior to the crash or earlier in the evening to get in touch.

“In addition we are asking anyone with dash-cam footage who may have been travelling in the area at the time to check for anything that may help our investigation to also get in touch.

"Anyone with information is asked to call Police Scotland on 101, quoting incident 3321 of Thursday, 11 March, 2021."
