Three people hospitalised following 'serious' crash on Scots road

Three people have been left in hospital following a 'serious' crash on a Scots road.

Emergency services rushed to the smash on the A98, south of Fraserburgh, near Mid Ardlaw, at around 12pm on Saturday, February 12.

Motorists were urged to find alternative routes as cops attended the scene on the busy stretch of road.

The collision, involving three cars, left three people in hospital.

One person was rushed to Aberdeen Royal Infirmary for treatment. The extent of their injuries is not known.

Two other people were taken to Fraserburgh Hospital to be checked over as a precaution, reports Aberdeen Live.

Fire crews were also drafted in to assist as the scene was eventually cleared.

An initial Police Scotland statement said: "Motorists are advised to avoid the A98 south of Fraserburgh, near Mid Ardlaw, due to a serious road crash involving three vehicles.

The incident took place around 12pm and emergency services are in attendance."
