Officers responded to a collision involving one car.

It is thought the car came off the road and then collided into a tree.

Three people were taken to hospital after suffering injuries.

GMP said the driver was arrested on suspicion of drug driving offences, and enquiries are ongoing.

The road was closed in both directions for about three hours, between Elm Avenue and Wood Street.

Anyone with information, including dashcam or CCTV footage, is being asked to report it online or by using the GMP LiveChat service at gmp.police.uk, quoting incident log number 1274 of 30/09/21.
