Three people escaped with only minor injuries after car flips onto its roof in crash

Three people have escaped with only minor injuries after a crash which left a car on its roof.

Police were called to reports of a collision on Valley Park Road in Prestwich on Friday afternoon.

A red Vauxhall Zafira ended up on its roof following the collision with a black Peugeot 208.

Greater Manchester Fire and Rescue Service also attended the incident  and had to cut one person out of a vehicle.

Police have now confirmed that there were three casualties, including one who was taken to hospital, but that they all sustained only minor injuries.

The road, along with two lanes of the adjoining Bury New Road, were closed for some time following the incident and led to traffic delays in the area for several hours.

In a statement, GMFRS said: "At 16.24 on 4th December 2020, four fire engines from Whitefield, Broughton and Ashton-under-Lyne attended an incident on Bury New Road, Prestwich.

"The road traffic collision involved two vehicles.

"Firefighters used cutting equipment, stabfast and lighting to extricate one casualty from the vehicle.

"Crews were detained approximately ninety minutes."
