Three people die with coronavirus in the Bristol region - latest breakdown

Three more people have died with coronavirus in the Bristol region over the past 24 hours.

The latest Government figures show that one Covid fatality was recorded in North Somerset, bringing that district's overall death toll to 313.

Another fatality was also confirmed in Bristol, taking the death toll there to 469.

In addition, one more person has died in South Gloucestershire, increasing the overall death total since the pandemic began there to 355.

Data also reveals a further 39 infections were recorded across all four local authorities that make up the West of England - a rise from yesterday's 16.

Bristol reported the highest increase with 14, ten cases were recorded in North Somerset and eight in Bath and North East Somerset. There were seven new cases in South Gloucestershire.

Here is the latest daily breakdown of cases and deaths for each area in the region:

Cases

The number of positive test results in each area since the pandemic began is recorded below, with positive test results from the last 24 hours in brackets.

  • Bristol - 30,807 (14 new cases)
  • North Somerset - 10,081 (10 new cases)
  • Bath and North East Somerset - 8,235 (eight new cases)

  • South Gloucestershire - 15,211 (seven new cases)

Deaths

The number of deaths in each area since the pandemic began is recorded below, with new deaths in brackets.

  • Bristol - 469 (1)
  • North Somerset - 313 (1)
  • South Gloucestershire - 355 (1)
  • Bath and North East Somerset - 218 (-)
  • UK-wide, the Government said another 17 people had died within 28 days of testing positive for Covid-19, bringing the UK total to 127,451.

    Tuesday's update also saw a further 2,685 lab-confirmed cases in the UK. It brings the total to 4,409,631.

    In total, 1,091 coronavirus patients were admitted to hospitals across the UK in the week up to April 21.
