Three people charged over hydroponic cannabis crops

Illegal electricity diversions had to be disconnected by technicians due to "dangerous wiring" police have said, after they uncovered 18 hydroponically grown cannabis plants in Adelaide's south.

Police said they searched two houses at Moana and Seaford, uncovering the plants along with 18 seedlings and a large amount of electrical ballast boxes, lights and filters.

A 30-year-old man and 24-year-old woman from Moana were arrested and charged with cultivating cannabis and stealing electricity, while a 23-year-old man from Seaford was charged with cultivating cannabis.

Police alleged the electricity at the Moana property was being illegally diverted to grow the plants.

All three people were bailed and are expected to appear in the Christies Beach Magistrates Court on August 29.
